This page explains what information suncoast pixel collects when you visit suncoastpixel.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We kept it plain. If anything here isn’t clear, email us and we’ll walk you through it.
The short version
We’re a small web design and marketing studio on Florida’s Gulf Coast, not a data broker. We collect the basics we need to answer your questions and keep the site running, and that’s about it. We don’t sell your information to anyone. You can ask us what we have on file, and you can ask us to delete it.
Who we are
Our website address is https://suncoastpixel.com. suncoast pixel is a web design, development, and marketing studio based on the Gulf Coast of Florida. When this policy says “we” or “us,” that’s who we mean.
Information we collect
Most people visit the site, read a few pages, and leave without handing over a thing. We only collect personal information when you give it to us, or when your browser shares it automatically. Here’s the breakdown.
When you contact us
If you fill out a contact form, request a quote, or book a call, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write in the message. We use that to reply and talk through your project. We don’t need a twelve-field intake form, so we don’t ask for one.
When you comment on the blog
If you leave a comment on one of our posts, we collect what’s in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser details to help catch spam. An anonymized string created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you’re using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy lives at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile photo is visible next to it.
Automatically, as you browse
Like most websites, ours collects some information on its own: your IP address, browser type, the pages you land on, and the breadcrumbs that show how you moved through the site. This comes through cookies and analytics tools, and it helps us see what’s working and what needs fixing.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use them for a handful of reasons. If you leave a comment, you can opt in to saving your name, email, and website so you don’t have to retype them next time, and those cookies stick around for a year. If you have an account and log in, we set cookies to remember your login and screen preferences. Analytics cookies help us see how the site gets used.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings whenever you want. Some parts of the site may not behave the way they should if you turn them off, but you’re free to do it.
Analytics and advertising
We use analytics tools, usually Google Analytics, to see how people find and use suncoastpixel.com. These rely on cookies and collect things like your approximate location, device, and the pages you view. The data is aggregated, so we’re reading patterns across visitors rather than building a file on you personally.
If we run ad campaigns through Google or another platform, those services may set their own cookies to measure how the ads perform. You can opt out of personalized Google advertising through Google’s Ads Settings.
Embedded content from other sites
Some posts and pages include embedded content like videos, maps, or social posts. Embedded content from another website behaves as though you visited that site directly. Those sites may collect data about you, set their own cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content, especially if you’re logged in to them.
Who we share your data with
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t hand it to anyone who doesn’t need it to help us run the studio. A short list of service providers may process data on our behalf, like our website host, our email provider, and our analytics tools. If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email. If the law ever requires us to share information, we’ll comply, but we’ll push back on anything that looks like a fishing expedition.
How long we keep your data
If you contact us, we hold on to your message and details for as long as we’re working together and for a reasonable window afterward, in case you come back. Blog comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically. For anyone who registers an account, we store the profile information they provide, and they can view, edit, or delete it whenever they want.
What rights you have over your data
If you’ve contacted us, commented, or registered an account, you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You can also ask us to erase it. We’ll honor that, except for anything we’re required to keep for legal, security, or administrative reasons. To make a request, email us at the address below.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable safeguards to keep your data secure, including an SSL certificate so anything passed between your browser and our site stays encrypted. No website can promise perfect security, but we treat your information the way we’d want ours treated.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the date below. Bigger changes get a clearer heads-up. It’s worth a look now and then.
