SaaS platform development

SEO agencies were managing thousands of backlinks across spreadsheets, emails, and disconnected tools. We built them a single platform to track, monitor, and report on every link in real time. Four months, a team of three, and one clear goal: replace the spreadsheet chaos with something that actually works.

Task

SEO professionals needed a centralized system for backlink management. The existing workflow was manual, fragmented, and expensive. Agencies were losing hours every month to spreadsheet audits and manual report building, while broken links went unnoticed for weeks. We designed and developed a full SaaS platform from discovery through launch.

⬤ 01. Challenges

SEO professionals and agencies manage hundreds, sometimes thousands of backlinks at any given time. The day-to-day reality of that work looks like this:

Scattered data. Links tracked across spreadsheets, emails, and separate tools. No single source of truth. When a team member leaves, half the institutional knowledge goes with them.

No real-time visibility. A backlink goes dead, gets nofollowed, or gets removed. Nobody knows until someone manually checks, which might be weeks later. By then, rankings have already taken the hit.

⬤ 01. The problem

What we were solving

Reporting eats hours. Every month, SEO managers pull data from three or four tools, format it into a client-facing report, add branding, and send it out. The same process, repeated for every client, every month.

Agency-client friction. Link building involves a lot of back and forth. Agencies propose link opportunities, clients approve or reject them, and the whole conversation happens in email threads and shared docs that nobody can find later.

The color system was built around trust and clarity. SEO professionals spend hours in dashboards, so the interface needed to feel calm, not compete for attention with the data it’s displaying.

Blue carries the primary actions and navigation. Pink marks live status signals and healthy links. The neutral palette keeps everything else out of the way so the numbers can do the talking.

OUR APPROACH

How we built it

We spent the first three weeks not writing code. We mapped out the workflows that SEO professionals actually follow when managing backlinks, talked to link builders and agency owners, and wrote down every problem.

01.

Core architecture and
data model

The database had to handle thousands of links per account and stay fast. We built the database schema around how SEO teams actually organize their work: by client, project, vendor, or status. Not how a generic CRM would structure it.

02.

Dashboard and monitoring engine

The centralized dashboard is the main screen. One screen: every backlink, its status, HTTP code, dofollow/nofollow, domain authority, last check date. It runs checks automatically and alerts you when something changes: a link goes 404, gets removed, or loses its dofollow tag.

03.

Integrations and reporting

We connected Backlinks360 to Google Search Console, Moz, and Ahrefs so that users don’t have to jump between tools to get the metrics they need. The reporting module lets managers generate branded, client-ready reports with one click. Export to PDF, CSV, or Excel. Saved templates for recurring reports.

People didn’t need another SEO suite with 50 features. They needed a focused tool that replaced the spreadsheet and automated monitoring. Reporting went from hours to minutes.

Key features

What we built

Centralized dashboard. Every backlink across every project in one place. Filter by client, vendor, status, domain rating. No more spreadsheet tabs.

Automated monitoring. Real-time checks on link status, HTTP codes, and indexing. Instant alerts when something breaks or changes. No manual audits needed.

One-click reporting. Branded, client-ready reports generated in seconds. Custom templates, historical data, performance trends. What used to take hours now takes minutes.

Google Search Console, Moz + Ahrefs integration. Pull Domain Authority, Domain Rating, indexing status, and traffic data directly into the platform. One source of truth instead of four browser tabs.

Client collaboration portal. Agencies propose link opportunities inside the platform. Clients review, approve, or reject them without email chains. The entire conversation lives in one place with full history.

Flexible pricing. Freemium model so freelancers and small agencies can start without paying upfront. Scales up as their client list grows.

00%

The platform now handles thousands of backlinks across active accounts, with the monitoring engine running continuous checks and catching issues that would have gone unnoticed for weeks under the old manual process.
